Reviews
We are from out of state but I will recommend this amazing restaurant to everyone I know. Our server Jake was a five star employee. I would recommend a raise. Very knowledgeable and very welcoming and attentive to multiple tables. Our food was amazing, drinks were delicious. Warm and very welcoming atmosphere. Worth every penny! Recommend the SHAKERTINIS! Thanks again to Jake. Happy holidays to all.
They have great service but their food is alright I got a risotto and it came with a salad I chose a Cesar salad but didn’t like it at all it had a very strong fishy flavor later the server told me it has anchovies and offered to change for me but I said it was ok and their risotto wasn’t that authentic either it was ok wouldn’t get it again maybe try something different. The sangria was good!
The food was amazing! The chef was able to accommodate my husband’s request to make his meal spicy and it didn’t lose any flavor! Sarah was a delight as a waitress- personable, kind, and knowledgeable. Her recommendation to try the agrodolce appetizer was phenomenal!! Both owners were hands on and we could see their passion to provide not just a great meal, but a fantastic experience! This was by far the best night out that we have had since moving to South Carolina. I’d give 100 stars if possible! This is the best restaurant in Beaufort county!!
We just moved here from NYC. We thought we found a spot that was amazing. We ordered the lasagna and meatballs at 9PM. When they came to our table it was awful. My husband said something to the owner and he went from zero to 100 and told us to leave and get out. We offered to pay for our drinks and he said NO and to leave and not to come back. I will let you know that this isn’t authentic Italian food. The meatballs were as hard as a rock and the lasagna was mushy and disgusting.
We left feeling so bad that we didn’t pay for our 3 drinks but after the owner threw us out and told us to leave I will never return. It’s a shame this area thinks this is amazing food. This is processed junk that people are paying way too much money for. He is ripping people off and should be shut down.
Very disappointed. The food was ok, but nothing higher than that. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs. After waiting an hour for our food, the waiter said that there were no more meatballs. Didn’t the chef know that when we placed our orders (an hour earlier) that there were no meatballs? We were also told that everything was cooked from scratch. Then why did the substitute meal for my husband take 5 minutes? We will not be returning.
If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would! The ambiance, impeccable service, and scrumptious food made this dining experience the highlight of our vacation. Our waiter, Jay, was an absolute ray of sunshine and truly gave first class service that is so hard to find in this post-pandemic era. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals - lasagna, chicken piccata, mare e monti, and bolognese. We can’t wait to return here on our next vacation to Fripp Island. It was so worth the drive and the little town of Habersham is adorable - like a mini Charleston! Thanks again and a big thanks to Jay for being so amazing.
We come to Miramare whenever we are in the area. It truly is a dining destination. The restaurant is very welcoming, cozy, and inviting. It is small, though, so reservations are a good idea. Also, be prepared to spend 2 hours for dinner. This is by design...patterned after Old Country Italian family dinners. Miramare prides itself on being an intimate, friendly place where people can relax, enjoy each other's company over great food and wine, and thoughtful service.
Atmosphere was pleasant, if a bit loud. Our waitress was very accommodating.
Food was very good, EXCEPT, they had no gluten free pasta! That was odd, since we called the night before and she said there would be spaghetti... (I'm gluten sensitive).
She also said she would add it to the reservation. Don't know if she did, but our waitress was unaware. She was also unaware it was my sister's birthday, also advised ahead of time.
My scallops and risotto was very good.
My sister was given a choice of desserts for her birthday, which was nice. But, the creme brulee was not. Ultra thin (1/4 inch), no hard layer of crystallized sugar and overall tasteless. The worst I've ever tasted.
The bar area was popular and loud. It is located in the same room as dining. Don't think that is a great decision.
Overall, I would say it was just OK, but nothing special experience. For the prices, I wouldn't recommend.
